Ratings for The X Factor USA took an expected dip last night, as most major shows lost viewers on the eve of Thanksgiving.

The singing (ish) competition, now in its second season, aired its fourth live show of the year last night; an episode that saw Diamond White reduce Demi Lovato to tears with her performance and even bring a tear to the eye of mentor Britney Spears.

The show pulled in in 7.2 million viewers, according to TV By The Numbers, achieving a demo rating of 2.2 amongst 18-49 year-olds.

That's a considerable slip on the 2.9 achieved last weekend, but it wasn't the only show that suffered.

On CBS, Survivor: Philippines earned a 2.3 rating, down from 2.6 last week; and Criminal Minds garnered 2.7, down from 3.0.

Tonight's results show will see another act ejected from X Factor, with Cher Lloyd (pictured) set to perform her new tune 'Oath'.

She has sold over 1 million copies of her single 'Want U Back' in the US; a significant raise on the track's UK performance. It peaked outside the Top 20 over here in February.
