Samantha Womack was flown over to Los Angeles as Simon Cowell tried to persuade her to join the judging panel on Britain's Got Talent.
The former EastEnders star was rumoured to be on the top of Cowell's wish list as he replaced previous judges Michael McIntyre and David Hasselhoff.
He eventually signed up Alesha Dixon and David Walliams to join the line-up, and now Womack has revealed Mr Nasty was charm-personified as he made a bid to make her a talent show star.
And despite the actress knowing she was already signed to star in the West End's South Pacific, she admits she agreed to a meeting so she could snoop round the music mogul's LA home.
She tells OK! magazine, "Simon Cowell flew me out to his mansion in Los Angeles. I was already committed to South Pacific, and I kind of knew that, but to be honest, I wanted to see what Simon and his house were like!
"He was b**ody charming! I'd never been to LA before, and I spent a good few hours in his amazing house, just chatting.
"He's very easy to talk to and he smoked like a trooper - though weirdly his house didn't smell of cigarette smoke! He must have a magic machine that makes it disappear!
"It was amazing to witness LA like that and have the big black car pick me up. I took a sneaky photo of his house on my mobile - and I think he caught me doing it! It was a lovely meeting, but at the end of the day, it's just not me."
