Viewers vent mixed emotions as Jessie J and Danny O'Donoghue assemble The Voice UK live show teams

Some contestants won approval and others didn't as the Knockout stages drew to a close

And with that, The Voice UK's newly introduced Knockout Rounds are already over. Jessie J, Danny O'Donoghue, Sir Tom Jones and will.i.am have slashed the numbers on their teams down from a huge seven to just three - and with 16 singers eliminated over the course of one weekend, some decisions were bound to be met with disapproval online.

Last night (June 2) it was Team Jessie and Team Danny's turn to assemble their live show teams, and the decisions were certainly tricky. Sadly for Danny's champ Mitchel Emms, it was red-headed cutie Conor Scott who had more support on Twitter - and his fans were certainly not impressed by his dismissal. "I am genuinely enraged that Danny didn't put Connor Scott through! The kid is amazing!," raged one viewer. Another said: "I am annoyed!!!! That Danny didn't pick Alex but I am FUDGING FUMING THAT CONNOR WASN'T PICKED".

The angry messages just kept on coming, with "I'm sorry I'm not watching the voice anymore because Connor didn't get through #imdone #thevoiceuk @TheScript_Danny" and "Conor was the best on team Danny, he deserved to go through" becoming popular tweets. Even ex-TOWIE star Lydia Bright said: "I love Conor so much, cutest little smile #thevoiceuk". Heck, even Reggie Yates wrote: "Conor was BRILLIANT! #TheVoiceUK".

Elsewhere, for Jessie J, the decision to send Sarah Cassidy through to the live shows ahead of Danny County and Trevor Francis provoked a mixed reaction, which each of the three artists picking up some form of support from viewers. One angry viewer tweeted Jessie J directly: "@JessieJ You dont deserve to be a judge on #thevoiceuk! Trevor's gone over a mickey mouse vocal from Sarah? I think your #clueless! (sic)", and a second raged: "SARAH? Nooooo jessie no we don't need another bloody cher lloyd! #thevoiceuk". Still, Sarah did have her fair share of fans as well, with one gushing: "Got goosebumps from Sarah's performance @JessieJ #goosebumps #thevoiceuk"

Lovelle Hill's elimination got her trending on Twitter, after she and Letitia Grant-Brown lost out to Matt Henry for the final place in her live show team. One viewer commented: "That was amazing @LovelleOfficial #thevoiceuk", and another who was watching slightly behind schedule said: "Be devastated if @LovelleOfficial don't go through been me fave since blinds!! #mywinner @JessieJ #thevoiceuk". Awkward.

The show now hits its live rounds with Jessie J's team comprised of fast-pass Ash Morgan, with Sarah Cassidy and Matt Henry. Danny O'Donoghue has fast-pass Karl Michael, plus Andrea Begley and Mitchel Emms. Who are you backing for the win?
