It was announced earlier this week that plans for The Voice to embark on a UK tour later this year were cancelled after alleged poor ticket sales forced bosses to pull the plug on the eight-date tour.
Runner-up of the show, Tyler James, has spoken out about his disappointment that the live tour will no longer go ahead, “I was really looking forward to it. There are certain friends that I made on that show. We lived in a strange bubble together and became very close, so I was looking forward to going out there with them.”
He also emphasised the disappointment that fans of the show have expressed, “The amount of people who spoke to me on Twitter who had been looking forward to it, I'm really gutted for them too.”
30-year-old Tyler also speculated about the reason the tour was scrapped, “No-one has really explained the reason to me. Maybe they oversold it and thought it was going to do better than it would do. It's a shame.”
The singer came second in the BBC reality show, with 28-year-old Leanne Mitchell taking the winner's crown.
As we previously reported, Tyler’s single, Higher Love, actually beat Leanne Mitchell’s single in a chart battle following the show, with Tyler charting at No.39. Leanne’s effort, Run To You came in at No.45.
