With the X Factor coming to an end for another year very soon, reports have suggested that Simon Cowell has offered Cheryl Cole £2 million pounds to return to the show next year.

Various reports have suggested in the past that Simon, who is currently busy with the X Factor USA, is "desperate" to get Cheryl back on the show, and now a report by Now Magazine that the media mogul is willing to put his money where his mouth is and offer Cheryl £2 million to return to the judging panel.

A source claimed: "Simon told her she could have £2 million to return.

"He's even talked about bringing the show forward so it doesn't clash with the US X Factor because he's considering a comeback himself."

However, there may not be space on the panel for Cheryl after Louis revealed to EntertainmentWise's Georgie Barrat at the X Factor final press call in Manchester yesterday that his dream X Factor panel would consist of himself, Tulisa, Simon and Sharon Osbourne.

Despite making a guest appearance on the show this year when she helped Gary Barlow make the decision over who to send through to the live finals, Cheryl has bee quite clear in previous interviews that she doesn't want to return to the show.

Reacting to the rumours that she was returning to the show for Simon, The Sun reported Cheryl saying earlier this year:

"I saw Simon’s tweet. I’m not doing this for him. I am doing this for Gary as he’s my friend and he asked me to do it.”
