Shia LaBeouf airs more private emails after Baldwin's critical comments

Shia Labeouf has stepped up his feud with Alec Baldwin by leaking more private emails after the TV and movie veteran appeared to question the Transformers star's theatrical talents in a recent rant.

The 26 year old incurred the wrath of Baldwin last month, after he quit their Broadway play Orphans and then shared email correspondence between the 30 Rock star, director Daniel Sullivan and playwright Lyle Kessler on his Twitter.com page in a bid to explain his sudden decision to leave the production.

Baldwin admitted LaBeouf had disappointed him with his actions, and in a new interview with Vulture.com, the 54 year old appeared to suggest that the young actor was not cut out for acting onstage.

In the interview, published online on Tuesday, he said, "Some of the greatest movie stars had really serious theatre careers and still do. And many film actors, though, who are purely film actors, they're kind of like celebrity chefs... You hand them the ingredients, and they whip it up, and they cook it, and they put it on a plate, and they want a round of applause. In the theatre, we don't just cook the food and serve it."

LaBeouf has now responded to the critique in his own way, publishing more screen shots of emails previously sent between the pair and Sullivan. The messages indicate that Baldwin was ill prepared for the show's intense rehearsals and was not as focused as he should have been.

In one email from 10 February, Baldwin complains to LaBeouf about being "f**king tired", prompting the younger star to forward the exchange to Sullivan and quip, "I think he's nervous."

Another message shared online highlights comments Sullivan made to LaBeouf, which stated: "Don't be too surprised if Alec doesn't look up from his script much for the first few days. I suspect he's not nearly as prepared as you are. Not unusual at all when actors have a good long rehearsal time like we have. I just don't want it to throw you."

LaBeouf has since been replaced in the production by 3:10 to Yuma villain Ben Foster. The revival of Lyle Kessler's 1983 play is still scheduled to open for previews at the Schoenfeld Theatre in New York on 19 March.
