Cheeky chappy Russell Brand blasted TV host Graham Norton last night for making his mum cry when he quizzed the comedian about his failed marriage to 'California Girl' Katy Perry.
The presenter brought up the divorce during the interview, to which Russell replied:
“I saw her cry, Graham. That’s the reality because it’s real people, Graham. That’s my real mum."
“I have come here to promote a film and you made my mum cry. I don’t see you as that sort of person, Graham.”
Norton replied: “I don’t see myself as that kind of person.”
But Brand, 37, hit back: “And yet you are.”
Graham also couldn't resist adding in the fact that Katy had sat in the exact same position that the Arthur star was sat in, just a week before.
“Some human beings get married and hopefully it works out for them and maybe it won’t. “If people get divorced, maybe that is a sad thing.”
Although Norton, 49, then attempted to move the conversation swiftly on, Russell clearly couldn't forgive and forget so easily.
Norton said: “If I hadn’t asked anything, it would have been weird because she was on the show last week? That’s the only reason.”
But Brand scoffed: “Will people sit and think, ‘Oh, that’s odd?’ What I would have done, mate, in your position, is come up to me before the show and gone, ‘Eh, listen, it’s a bit odd that your ex-missus was on last week. I might mention it, is that OK?’"
“But in all of the chatting and the research backstage, no one mentioned it.”
In the end however, the TV presenter admitted he was wrong and issued an apology.
Well, we're glad you asked the question that everyone wants to know the answer to, Gray!
