Robert Pattinson to ring in happier times at New York Stock Exchange

Heartbroken Robert Pattinson has been offered the chance to ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange as he recovers from his recent love split.

The actor went into hiding shortly after his longtime girlfriend Kristen Stewart issued a public apology for cheating on him with married director Rupert Sanders.

He will return to the spotlight on Monday night when he appears on U.S. funnyman Jon Stewart's The Daily Show and he has a number of appearances scheduled to promote his new film Cosmopolis.

Among them is a trip to Wall Street on Tuesday, where he has been invited to kick start the financial day for brokers and traders.

Pattinson will join Cosmopolis director David Cronenberg on the floor of the historic NYSE to ring the bell.
