He's involved in a hit-and-run in his new music video, but Robbie Williams is determined for his latest foray into the music charts not to be a car crash. In fact, he's planning world domination!
The former Take That star is desperate to prove his worth in the music industry, revealing that he wants to become truly involved with the new sound in a way he hasn't been on previous albums.
The 'Angels' singer is preparing for the release of his new album Take the Crown on November 5. As reported in The Belfast Telegraph, Robbie has explained the reason behind the record's title:
"Because I feel I haven't really been engaged with my last couple of albums and I think that's come across. Now I've come full circle and I want to impress people," he told the UK edition of OK! magazine.
Now he's back in the game, he wants to come out on top:
"I want to dominate the charts. I want to take on the world and I want to be a top pop star. I'm re-energised and it's called Take The Crown for that reason."
Robbie has battled drug addiction in the past, relying on medication to give him the equilibrium he needs to function. He believes that the medication he takes currently is the key to his productivity. What was the trigger for his decision to make music again?
"When I found the right balance of medication really.
"I was [messing] about for a while and then I found the right levels and I thought, this is it - go and take on the pop charts." Oh right then!
