'It Was The Right Thing To Do': Dancing With The Stars' Pro Not Angry With Billy Dee Williams' Early Exit

1 April 2014

Last night's offering of Dancing With The Stars saw Billy Dee Williams pull out of the show on medical advice. And it was a decision that Billy's professional dance partner Emma Slater was absolutely fine with.

Suffering from a back injury, Billy announced that he was no longer going to be appearing on the show. Speaking about his decision to leave the episode before he was officially eliminated, Billy told People magazine:

"I had a great time. I had a blast. I wish I could continue. I'm sorry that I'm not going to be around, but my back just can't handle it. My health is more important."

Understanding of Billy's reasons to quit, Emma showed that she had no hard feelings when she told the publication:

"I knew the back was a problem for Billy. We were already kind of taking it slowly, but for me, surprisingly, this decision wasn't as difficult as it could have been because it really was the right thing to do.

"We made peace with that. We more directed it as a celebration of the time we've had together."

Expressing her upset at seeing Billy leave the competition early, fellow DWTS celebrity Amy Purdy who reduced the judges to tears when she retold the story of how she lost her legs, tweeted:

"Heartbroken to lose @realbdw tonight...he is a true rockstar. So happy to have shared these #DWTS #EpicMoments w/ you Billy! #PurdyHough."
