The Queen Is 'Letting Prince William & Kate Middleton Tear Up The Rule Book' When It Comes To Raising Prince George

Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William have reprotedly been given the blessing of the Queen to "tear up the rule book" when it comes to raising their baby son, and future monarch, Prince George.

Prince George has been kept out of the limelight since his birth on July 22, but according to insiders the duke and duchess have taken a very hands on appraoch to parenting, shunning a team of employees in favour of help from Kate's parents and William's own childhood nanny.

The couple also did things their way by whisking their newborn off to the home of Kate's parents in Bucklebury, Berkshire in the days after the birth, allowing them to enjoy time alone with their first child.

It's now emerged that William's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, is more than happy with how he and Kate are choosing to raise their son, despite their very modern approach to parenthood.

“The Queen is letting William tear up the rule book to an extent,” a royal insider has told In Touch Weekly. After all, “he is the future of the monarchy,” explained the source.

Rather than fight for tradition at every turn, “she picks her battles, but she does insist on some tradition,” added the source. It's thought Prince George's recent chirstening was the perfect example of compromise between royal tradition and William and Kate's more modern values.

Instead of a grand occasion inolving hundreds of guests, only close family and George's godparents were invited to the intimate ceremony at Chapel Royal, St James' Palace.

Meanwhile it was announced this month that little George is following in his fashionable mum's footsteps, as at just four months old the future king has been named as one of the most influential fashion icons.

The list compiled by John Lewis includes the likes of Cara Delevingne, Harry Styles and tennis player Andy Murray as one of 2013's most influential fashion figures, The Mirror reports.

According to John Lewis it was Prince George's appearance on the steps of the Lindo Wing, St Mary's Hospital on July 23, just a day after his birth that earned him a place on the list due to the 600% increase in sales of the blanket he was wrapped in. Looks like at only four months old the little tot is already turning heads.
