Prince William 'Will Be A Hands-On Dad'

There's not even a bump in sight let alone a baby but a friend of Kate Middleton and Prince William has revealed that the couple plan to be "hands-on" parents.

Jessica Hay is the childhood friend of Kate, who last month claimed the Duchess of Cambridge was already pregnant, alleging that the Royals would make an announcement this month. Now Kate's former school friend has told Life & Style magazine that she expects the couple to be the main caregivers for any future children:

"William is very much like his mother Princess Diana and will definitely be a hands-on dad and not rely heavily on nannies to raise his and Catherine's children."

"They both try to be as normal as possible in their private lives and that of course is going to continue when they have children."

Even though we're slightly dubious about Jessica's pregnancy claims, this comment we can believe. With Kate and Wills choosing a remote Welsh cottage as their home for the past couple of years rather than the grandeur of royal palaces, not to mention their obvious natural rapport with children, we reckon the couple will be nothing but hands-on.

Jessica goes on to add that the married couple's circle of friends all think they will make great parents: "Everyone's always said what great parents they'll be, since they are such a caring couple and very relaxed. They will lavish love on their children."

Whilst there's no sign of babies yet, Prince William did give a hint that the royals could be expecting a new addition when he was presented with a gift for his first child while on a walk about in Cambridge.

The couple made their first visit to their namesake city earlier this week and in one trip highlight Wills was presented with a personalised baby grow by a wellwisher. Rather than decline to accept the gift from Samatha Hill, the future king smiled coyly and gave the gift to an aide.

The cute romper suit had a picture of the helicopter with the words 'Daddy's little co-pilot' emblazoned across it, making reference to the prince's work as an RAF Search and Rescue pilot. Speaking of the gift, Ms Hill told The Mirror: “I made it for when his little one comes along, he’s a helicopter pilot so his baby will think his daddy is cool." “

When I gave it to him he said ‘I’ll keep that’ and handed it to his aide.”
