Prince Harry emerged from a cold chamber today where temperatures reached as low as -35C as part of his gruelling training programme in preparation for his upcoming charity trek across the South Pole this November.
“Prince Harry takes down his tent after sleeping in -35C in a #ColdChamber exercise for #SouthPole2013," Clarence House tweeted earlier today, alongside a picture of the prince.
The brave royal spent 24 hours in the chilly chamber to acclimatise for the frosty conditions he will have to face when in Antarctica.
Harry will be doing the polar expedition with the Walking With The Wounded South Pole Allied Challenge. He will be working alongside a team, known as Team Glenfiddich – made up of British soldiers who have been injured in the line of duty.
The team worked inside the special environmental simulator that mimics the extreme conditions he will face Antarctica, with winds of up to 60mph.
They practised putting up tents and using cross trainers inside the engineered environmental test chambers in Warwicks, as well as skiing for two hours at a time with ten minute breaks for a total of 12 hours.

A spokesman for the charity raising money for injured servicemen and women told The Mirror newspaper:
“The team will spend four hours a day making and breaking camp. It is important this activity is rehearsed to save time.”
The training at Mira in Nuneaton, Warwicks, will help Harry and his team of injured military personnel prepare for the 200-mile trek to the South Pole in fierce -40C conditions.
Luckily Harry looked like wasn't taking any chances with the weather and was sufficiently wrapped up in a warm red coat with a fur trim as well as a pair of thick gloves.
Dominic West, star of hit TV series The Wire as Jimmy McNulty, will be up against Harry in the challenge as well as True Blood star Alexander Skarsgård.
