Kate Middleton, The Duchess of Cambridge has left hospital following her four day treatment for severe morning sickness. The mother-to-be appeared for the first time since news broke that her and Prince William are expecting a child on Monday and while she looked visibly tired and washed out, the couple's joyful expressions were clear as they posed for photographs outside the hospital.

Clutching a bouquet of yellow flowers and wrapped up against the cold in a navy blue coat, the Duchess, told reporters she was “feeling much better” as she left the King Edward VII Hospital in central London.

Happy that she no longer has to keep the pregnancy a secret, Kate beamed as she posed for photos, though there is no sign of a baby bump yet. She will now rest up at Kensington Palace a spokesperson for St James' Palace confirmed.

The royals, who also only found out about the pregnancy on Monday, are said to be “delighted”. Kate was diagnosed with suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness, that can last for the entire pregnancy.
