Showing off her a-list credentials the reality TV star was welcomed by the US Ambassador to Kuwait, Matthew Tueller and excitedly tweeted a picture of the pair together. Despite her high profile arrival and meeting with the top US official in the country, her visit hasn't been welcomed by all.

According to Al Wasat News a group of Bahrani MPs petitioned to stop Kim visited the region, describing Kim as a woman with a “bad reputation”.

Kim is set to visit Bahrain after Kuwait, where she will be opening a new 'Millions of Makeshakes' franchise.

Speaking in a YouTube video ahead of the trip, Kim said she couldn't wait to see Kuwait.

She said: “I can't wait to see your beautiful city and meet everyone.”

Her visit comes just weeks after the star was forced to apologise following a political gaffe on Twitter when she commented on the unease in the Israel, Palestine conflict and according to TMZ will use the visit to “educate herself.”

A source claimed: "Kim wants to be as informed as possible ... so she can use her celebrity to help those in need and raise awareness about important issues in the area."
