Nicki Minaj's V Festival Slot In Doubt After She Loses Voice

16 August 2012

Nicki Minaj's slot at this weekend's V Festival is in doubt after the rapper was taken ill following her two shows in New York this week.

The rapper had been advised by doctors to take two weeks of rest for her voice after rounding off her recent North American tour but the star insisted on performing two free shows on Tuesday night (August 14).

Minaj took to the stage at Rockefeller Plaza and also performed an evening show for fans at the Roseland Ballroom in Manhattan.

Taking to her Twitter account last night the 'Starships' rapper revealed that she has now lost her voice due recent packed schedule.

Minaj wrote: "It's official, my voice is GONE! I swear it held up just to spk to uguys last nite! Mind over matter. The mind is so powerful… It was all worth it for what I experienced w/u guys last night tho. Wouldn't change a thing (sic)."

She is set to join the likes of Noel Gallagher and The Stone Roses at this weekend's V Festival.

Taking place in both Staffordshire and Chelmsford on the weekend of August 18-9, V Festival 2012 will also see Tinie Tempah, Example, Professor Green, Emeli Sande, Rizzle Kicks and Friendly Fires perform.

Nicki Minaj's representatives have yet to comment on whether the rapper will still appear when contacted by Entertainmentwise.
