McFly Bandmates Quit Booze To Help Dougie Poynter

McFly have all quit drinking in a bid to help their bandmate Dogie Poynter with his own recover from aloholism.

I'm A Celebrity winner Dougie entered rehab in 2011 to deal with his demons but, with McFly about to go on a UK tour, knows his resolve will be tested. With that in mind, his bandmates have all vowed to stay off the sauce and help him out.

"None of the boys really drink now to help me out. We are all a bit more grown-up now, so the novelty has kind of worn off. In the early days of McFly, we went wild!” Dougie told The Mirror. Adding: “I’m not missing the booze. I had to give up because I always took it too far. Now I’m clear-headed, I like being hangover-free – I get a lot more achieved."

McFly's UK tour kicks off in April. The boys are currently rehearsing around the schedule of drummer Harry Judd, who is on the Strictly Come Dancing live tour.
