Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are to put on a sale a controversial new handbag that hardly anyone can afford.
The twin sisters – who found fame in acting on TV and film – are now fashion designers and must serious be raking in the cash.
After releasing a now completely sold out $39,000 handbag, they are now introducing a line of new ones retailing for $55,000.
Starting December 12, nine limited edition handbags from the their fashion line named The Row will go on sale.
The bags are created by artist Damien Hirst and are controversially covered in prescription pills, made from black patent leather Nile crodocile skin.
Unsurprisingly, to those of us whose house is worth the same amount as the tote, only 12 of each bag will be made.
However a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the UNICEF charity, although it is not clear how much.
The pill embellishments – which could be interpreted as glamorising drug use - should be a touchy subject for Mary-Kate most of all as are definitely controversial, as her friend and rumoured boyfriend, Heath Ledger, died of an accidental overdose of prescription painkillers, sleeping pills and anti-anxiety medication.
