Justin Bieber might be concentrating on the launch of his new album Believe, but the young star's movie career is still on the table with Mark Wahlberg insisting that they are pushing for the basketball flick to be made, but that does mean that the teen will have to ditch his signature hair.
The 'Boyfriend' singer has been talking about the movie that he's working on with 'The Fighter' star, which the Golden Globe-winner says will be like 'The Color of Money', which starred Tom Cruise and Paul Newman.
Mark will be playing Bieber's reluctant mentor, while Bieber will be the “wisecracking kid who's very talented”.
Talking to MTV News, Wahlberg said: "It's set in [the world of] street hustling basketball. Obviously, [Bieber] is a very good athlete. People have seen him on MTV; he can play. But I also really think he can act."
The actor also revealed that he will really be pushing the teen to give a good performance. "There's not going to be any shortage of pushing him in getting that kind of strong performance out of him, if we get to make the movie.
"We're just going to have to make him realize that he's playing a character so he can't have the same hairdo," he joked.
Production is expected to start in Spring, however the 18-year-old has previously spoken about the delays that have been dogging the project.
"I'm still working on this movie with Mark Wahlberg," Bieber said in May. "I don't know what the deal is. Turns out they're rewriting the script or something, trying to make it fit better and stuff.
"It's really cool. Hopefully, I'll be able to do that as well soon. So, I'll be hooping. I got to get back in the gym. I haven't played basketball in a while."
