Louie Spence has been axed from Dancing On Ice so that notorious predecessor Jason Gardiner can make a comeback.

The Pineapple Dance Studios star was a judge on the show for one series, but has now been ousted.

He wrote on Twitter: "To all asking no I won't be judging @Dancingonice this year Jason is back ..."

Gardiner had a fallout with colleague Karen Barber during the 2011 season when he ridiculed her on air for being bumped from the panel to work as a coach.

Gardiner and reigning head judge Robin Cousins will be joined by another new judge, following the departure of Katarina Witt, who also only worked on the series for one year.

Pamela Anderson, Lauren Goodger, Keith Chegwin, Samia Ghadie, Matt Lapinskas, Anthea Turner and Olympian Beth Tweddle have all been rumoured to be participating.

The show returns in January.
