Lindsay Lohan denies wine-grabbing incident

Lindsay Lohan's newfound sobriety and cleaner lifestyle remain intact, despite what a recent photograph might suggest.

Reports suggesting the troubled star had fallen back into her partying ways began circulating when she was snapped seemingly reaching for a bottle of red wine, prompting fans to roll their eyes.

Online gossips claimed the star was hell-bent on wrecking all the good work she's done since leaving rehab in August, but the actress' rep has put the pesky picture down to an optical illusion.

The publicist insists that the Mean Girls star "continues to succeed in her recovery" and explains, "The photo does not show Lindsay consuming any alcohol and could easily be misleading as her purse is also in the photo (next to the bottle) despite what the photos show."

Oh, well that explains it then.

Her dad Michael Lohan has also been quick to come to his daughter's defence, insisting that even when she was on the booze, wine wasn't her tipple of choice.

He tells Radar Online, "The story is ridiculous. First of all, I've never known Lindsay to ever, ever, ever, have a glass of wine. I've seen and I speak to Lindsay constantly and every time I do, she is of clear mind and by no means do I have any suspicion of her relapsing in any way."

Well that may be, but Lindsay still isn't able to shake off the ghosts of her past - a driver of an 18-wheeler that she hit last year is suing her for an undisclosed sum.

TMZ.com reports that truck driver James Johnson is demanding damages over claims he was injured and suffered great physical, mental and nervous pain after the actress' Porsche smashed into his vehicle in California.

A girl just can't catch a break!
