LeAnn Rimes Cancels Tour Dates For Emergency Dental Surgery

31 July 2012

LeAnn Rimes has caused quite a stir amongst her fans after the singer announced that she had to cancel a number of shows to undergo an emergency root canal! Ouch!

The singer was due to perform in New Philadelphia, Ohio on Thursday (July 26) and Carmel, Indiana the following night but she scrapped the shows after having the painful surgery.

Giving fans the full details of her dental nightmate, Rimes took to Twitter last week: ''Waiting on the endodontist to meet me and do a nighttime root canal. This is one of the craziest things I've ever been through.''

''Trying to keep my mind off the pain & what's about to happen by saying hi to you guys. Life does not work on the right schedule sometimes. This is such bad timing!!!!!... Wish me luck. (sic)"

Detailing the procedure, she later added, "I got 3 shots in the roof of my mouth & 1 Insane shot directly into the half dead, half Alive nerve through the hole he drilled on the backside of my tooth. That was after the 7 shots in the front of my mouth that didn't phase (sic) me. I can't get numb so the lengths they must go to in order to get me there are nuts.''

Clearly upset that she had to cancel the shows, Rimes later tweeted: ''So sorry to my sweet fans. We'll make it up any show missed as soon as we can. I'm in bed, have been & trying to alleviate the pain.''

Fans were quick to respond with well wishes and love for the singer!

One fan tweeted: ''@leannrimes Oh dear, will keep you in my prayers. From the bottom of my heart wishing you a jet speed recovery, your heart is wonderful.xo''
