Kristen Stewart and 'On The Road' may not be among the favourites for an Oscar nomination let alone a win, but you can't blame a girl for trying, and the star will be following up an appearance at a pre-Oscars awards show with more promotion of 'On The Road'.

Ahead of the film's US release on December 21, slap bang in the middle of the prefered release time for awards contenders, the star is apparently set to walk the red carpet again at a screening of 'On the Road' on December 6 in West Hollywood.

The film critic Scott Mantz confirmed K-Stew's attendance, tweeting: “#Twilight #BreakingDawnPart2 star #KristenStewart to attend special reception for #OnTheRoad on 12/6 in West Hollywood!”

Already released outside the US and having shown at Cannes, the film got a more negative response from critics than an adaptation of Jack Kerouac's novel directed by Walter Salles can have expected.

However, with Academy voters you never know ('Braveheart' was famously loathed by critics, but won a Best Director gong for Mel Gibson) and if on its US release Kristen's pulling power can generate a bit of buzz around the film, then who knows, hence the star returning to the promotional trail.

She's already promoted the film in Cannes and Toronto, although gave the British premiere a miss during the frenzy over her cheating scandal.

There's set to be an afterparty too, giving K-Stew a chance to schmooze critics and fans.

One question will be on the lips of all Kristen's fans though, after the 'Twilight' promotional tour showcased their reunion, will boyfriend Robert Pattinson give Kristen a hand as he did in Cannes and help build the profile of the hitherto faltering movie?

Apparently if K-Stew did ever win an Oscar she'd thank Rob first, with a source telling HollywoodLife.com: "Believe me, if Kristen ever won an Oscar or was nominated for an Oscar, the first person she would thank is Rob,” adding: “She would never ditch him because of her fame. She does what she does because she loves the challenge.”
