Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson were allegedly planning to have a baby together before the news emerged that Kristen had been cheating on the actor.

The 'Twilight' co-stars, who still have the last installment of the movie to promote, were spotted kissing at Cannes Film Festival earlier this year finally going public with their very private relationship, and now it has been reported that they were actually thinking about starting a family together.

The couple, who are said to have split following Kristen's admission that she had been having an affair with married father-of-two Rupert Sanders.

"They had been talking about having a baby together once Twilight ended, which is what makes this so extra-painful," a source told The National Enquirer. "Kristen knew how badly Rob wanted to start a family, and it was a subject that had dominated their conversations in recent months."

They insider also added: "Rob would be a great father, and having a baby would probably have brought them even closer together."

Shortly after Kristen released an statement apologising to her British beau, removal vans were spotted leaving their California home. No representative has confirmed whether the couple have split.

"Kristen fears she'll never have the chance to get Rob back, and that their baby dreams are now totally shattered. Kristen feels so terrible, this is truly a nightmare for her, but there's nothing she can do to turn back time," the insider reportedly continued.

"If Rob takes her back at this point it will be a miracle, but she knows she only has herself to blame."
