Kate Nash Divides Opinion With New Song 'Underestimate The Girl'

Kate Nash has divided opinion after the release of her latest song ‘Underestimate The Girl’, which was written and recorded in the space of 24 hours.

The song divided opinion immediately with some hailing it as “refreshing” and others asking “what happened to her good music?”.

Gustav Woods, of UK alt.rock band Young Guns tweeted: “looks like Kate Nash just discovered riot grrrl. and drugs. definitely drugs.”

Whereas Lilly Allen defended the singer on her twitter, saying: “i must say i think Kate Nash's new jam is pretty cool. i know its controversial but more power to her i say! gwaaarn Nasher”

NME.com has hailed the song as “obviously brilliant”, mainly because its much derided sound is the very foundation of what Punk music is supposed to sound like.

The article goes on to state that ‘Underestimate The Girl’ “is the most one of the most punk records ever, and it's brilliant for it”.

Kate first rose to stardom in 2007 with a string of hit’s including ‘Foundations’ off of her debut album ‘Made of Bricks’, is about to embark on a seven date UK tour, which begins tonight in Liverpool at The Zazibar Club.
