Prince William turns 30 today (June 21) but don’t expect any major parties for the future king as the low-key royal has opted for an intimate celebration at his father’s house in Gloucestershire.
The prince is currently in the area carrying out training for his role as an RAF Search and Rescue pilot but will take timeout to mark the milestone with those closest to him.
His wife the Duchess of Cambridge will host the evening, with his father Prince Charles and step-mother the Duchess of Cornwall expected to attend.
"Kate [Middleton] had been planning a small dinner party with their friends and some family," an insider told People magazine.
"William is working as usual during his birthday week," the royal source continued. "Tonight he will have a private celebration with family and friends."
St James’ Palace confirmed that the event will be “low key” which is in keeping with the quiet couple.
Speaking of a normal night the source added: "Kate will cook his favourite dinners after he gets home from work . . . or she'll order movies on Amazon for them to watch on the couch."
Happy birthday Wills!
