Kate Middleton, Prince William And Baby George 'Africa Trip Cancelled After Nairobi Mall Massacre'

Kate Middleton, Prince William and baby George were due to return to Africa during William's "gap" break after he left his RAF job, it's been revealed, but due to the recent Nairobi mall massacre, the trip has been axed.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wanted to introduce their son to the country, according to the Daily Star, but after the recent terrorist acts, their plans have been scrapped.

A royal aide said: “They wanted to escape, just the three of them – but it’s all off now."

“The whole place is crawling with al-Shabaab who would love to take a pop at a future king.”

William proposed to Kate in a mountain hut on the slopes of Mount Kenya back in October 2010 and the Prince is patron of the Tusk Trust conservation group which helps threatened species, so they were excited to pay the country a visit again.

William recently said in TV documentary Prince William’s Passion: New Father, New Hope: “I do regularly daydream and Africa is definitely one of the places I go to.

“I’ve got hundreds of animals on my iPhone, noises and sounds of the bush. If I’m having a stressful day I’ll put a buffalo or a cricket or newt on and it takes you back instantly to the bush."

He added: “It does completely settle me down.”

Prince George is also getting an early taste of the country with an African-themed bedroom, the Duke continues: “I’ll have toy elephants and rhinos around the room," adding: “We’ll cover it in…you know…lots of bushes and things like that, make him grow up as if he’s in the bush.”
