Joseph Gordon-Levitt Defends Ben Affleck Batman Casting: 'He'll Be Great'

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has defended the decision regarding casting Ben Affleck as the new Batman in the Man Of Steel sequel.

Warner Bros announced last week that Affleck will play the superhero. The Argo star faced a huge backlash when fans took to Twitter to vent their frustration on the casting.

"That's gonna be great," Gordon-Levitt told E! News when asked what he thought about the new Dark Knight at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.

The 32-year-old actor was pushed to comment even more, to which he added: "Oh, but it's gonna be good. I think it's gonna be good."

Gordon-Levitt was rumoured to play the comic hero for Superman Vs Batman movie, after the ending of The Dark Knight Rises hinted he might become the next one.

Another actor to have backed Affleck is Joss Whedon, he told his Twitter fans that the Oscar Winner will “crush it”.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston is set to play Superman's arch nemesis Lex Luthor.

Sources have apparently told Cosmic Book News that Cranston is a “truly dream casting for Luthor”.
