MTV announced the plans for the new, and what looks set to be the last, series of the reality show which has set trends for similar formats across the globe.

The show's breakout star Snooki and her bestie JWoww will also get a second season of their own programme Snooki & JWoww.

The show will feature a newly sober Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino, who will be looking to settle down after a battle with drink and drugs.

All this could be make a very different season on The Shore, with less partying and drunken antics and more growing up for New Jersey's most infamous troop of 'guidos'.
