Exciting news! James Corden has confirmed that his hit show 'Gavin and Stacey' WILL be returning to our telly screens!

The co-creator and star of the BBC comedy has told the Daily Mail that it "would be a crime not to [make more episodes]". He cites his love of working with his writing partner Ruth Jones as the reason for bringing back the show, saying:

"It's a great show, writing with Ruth is a gift. I definitely plan on doing more."

The show which made Corden a household name came to an end in January 2010 in a special which saw James' character Smithy finally get it together with Ruth's Nessa. Meanwhile the show's title couple, played by Matthew Horne and Joanna Page, were expecting their first child at the close of the final episode.

Further specials have been rumoured since, with co-creator Ruth Jones saying that she would like to make a musical as well as a new episode.

Meanwhile James also spoke about his troubled friendship with co-star Matt. After enjoying the massive success of 'Gavin and Stacey', the two former BFF's parted ways following their disastrous BBC Three sketch show and movie flop 'Lesbian Vampire Killers'. James says Matt is "still a really good mate" and has been invited to Horne's wedding in September.

With James seeing his star staus soar on both sides of the Atlantic after his award-winning role in theatre hit 'One Man,Two Guvnors', will he have time to pen a new series?
