Ian Somerhalder has sparked more intense rumours over whether he may be the one to take on the role of Christian Grey in the movie adaptation of the 'mummy-porn' novel, by revealing that he was browsing through a movie script on the set of The Vampire Diaries.

Somerhalder has long been one of the favourites to play Christian, with the star being a fave among fans since movie plans became a certainty last summer, quickly putting bigger names like Robert Patttinson in the shade.

The actor tweeted: “On set preparing scene for TVD,Reading movie script and California dreaming on such a winter's day...Thankful for multi-tasking brain,” starting a new wave of fan interest in whether the actor is set to play Christian.

The news is of course speculative – as a number of actors have done things that could link them to the kinky role.

'Man of Steel' star Henry Cavill initially failed to rule himself out of the running, before it was revealed that his talent agency was meeting with 'Fifty Shades' producer Dana Brunetti.

Also in the frame is porn star James Deen, who openly admitted that he could have “a lot of fun” with the character.

Another fan favourite Matt Bomer also commented on the role this week, telling The Metro: "No comment. That's my line on that. But it's very flattering that I've got fans who would like to see me in things."

So who'll be your Christian Grey? Ian, Henry, James or Matt, or someone else all together?
