The Sun has decided to defy St James Palace's request for British publications not to publish the naked pictures of Prince Harry taken during a wild Las Vegas party in his private hotel suite.

The pictures are published on their front page, with an editorial explaining why they did it, with the pair claiming it was letting it's readers “take a full part in the national conversation” about the scandal.

The photos were first published by US site TMZ and were allegedly taken by a group of girls invited up to the Prince's exclusive suite after a night of partying in Las Vegas last Friday.

The palace confirmed that the photos were indeed Harry and contact British media organisations to urge them not to print the articles stating that they would breach Harry's privacy and the PCC Code.

The Sun however claimed in today's paper that with millions around the world, by re-printing the pictures their would be no further breach of privacy and claim that the prince's actions breached his own privacy rights himself.

They wrote: “There is a clear public interest in publishing the Harry pictures, in order for the debate around them to be fully informed. The photos have potential implications for the Prince’s image representing Britain around the world.”

“There are questions over his security during the Las Vegas holiday. Questions as to whether his position in the Army might be affected.”

“Further, we believe Harry has compromised his own privacy.”

Referring to Prince Harry's blame in the matter, the newspaper states: “These are not pictures of him and a girlfriend at Balmoral. The Prince was in Vegas, the party capital of a country with strong freedom-of-speech laws, frolicking in the pool before inviting strangers to his hotel room for a game of strip billiards.”

They went on: “These are hardly the acts of a man jealously guarding his privacy. And, sadly for Harry, what happens in Vegas doesn’t stay in Vegas."

The paper also points to the example of Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge's honeymoon when “privacy” was agreed with the UK press.

They claimed: “Compare that with Prince William and Kate, whose desire for quiet privacy on their honeymoon was respected by the British Press in the kind of arrangement we have readily agreed to with the Royal Family in the past and will doubtless agree to again.”

What do you think? Do Brits have a right to see what Prince Harry gets up to, espeically as the rest of the world knows before us?
