If Danny Boyle's Olympics Opening ceremony is anything to go by, this Sunday's closing event will be one hell of a star studded affair.

Along with the like of the Spice Girls and Pink Floyd, George Michael has revealed his Olympic nerves ahead of his performance.

His live slot at the closing ceremony will be his first live show in over a year after his hospitalisation last year caused him to cancel any remaining 2011 tour dates.

"Hey everyone, how are you. Spending most of the next week rehearsing like crazy for the Olympic closing ceremony.....," he said to followers on Twitter.

"Obviously a bit nervous not having played for nearly a year, but rehearsals sounding great so far!"

Last week, Victoria Beckham fuelled the rumours that the '90s girlgroup would be performing at the closing ceremony by posting a picture of the sparkly microphone she used for the Spice Girls reunion tour in 2007, with the quote "Look what I found!! X vb".

As well as the Spice Girls, the likes of One Direction, Ed Sheeran and Queen will also reportedly perform at the Olympic closing ceremony.
