Eric Bristow Wins Fifty Grand After Betting He Would Make It To Final Six In I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

ITVITV

Darts player Eric Bristow is sure to be finding his rice and beans easier to swallow with the knowledge he has a tasty fifty grand cheque to cash when he gets home.

The controversial campmate revealed to the other celebrities that before he entered the jungle, he placed a twenty thousand pound bet on the fact that he would still be in contention for the title at this point in the show. Added to the money he will receive for going in to the competition, we think Eric must be a pretty happy camper right now.

However, his thoughts on what to spend the money on had to be postponed as he took part in the day's trial 'The Great Escape'. On his way to the bush clearing he said in regard to how many starts he hoped to get: "Any less than four is no good."

With this determination in the forefront of his mind, he got stuck in to the challenge without a fuss. While laid on his back, he had to pull himself along the ground, stopping to untie the stars overhead, which inevitably came with a side order of creepy crawlies.

Ant and Dec kept up his morale and tried to translate his muttering, although at one point even Ant had to admit: "(I) didn't understand a word of that."

The darts champ headed back to camp with a pleasing five stars out of six, but the dinner he had won turned out to be eels, something that only TV Chef Rosemary Shrager seemed to enjoy.

Eric's luck didn't see him through the game of 'Door to Door', where he partnered with Eastenders actress Charlie Brooks and managed to lose the game.

Five doors were in front of them, four with various treats (such as pizza, which is what Hugo and Ashley won) and one that meant game over.

After Charlie found clean laundry behind the first door, it was Eric who chose the blue, which sent them straight back to camp. This meant the pair did not get to see their children - unlike David and Rosemary who won a quick catch up with their loved ones - and Charlie was heartbroken. Eric on the other hand, dealt with the loss quite well. Ah well, he can take them on holiday as soon as he gets home!

What do you think? Are you a fan of Eric or do you think it was big headed for him to bet on his success?
