Emma Stone may be one of the hottest actresses on the planet right now, but if when you watch 'The Amazing Spider-Man' you're astounded by the reality of her fear when facing Rhys Ifans' The Lizard, it's because it's all real.
Stone plays Sider-Man's (Andrew Garfield) first true love Gwen Stacy in the movie, and inevitably as the love of a superhero she becomes the target of some unwanted attention from those who would seek to destroy Spidey.
In this case the character is The Lizard, a doctor whose ethics have gone badly wrong, and Emma told E! Online that she told Ifans to record some truly horrific things to get her in the mood.
Stone said: "I was in the closet and The Lizard is talking to me when I'm hiding, and the actual lines for the Lizard are, like, 'I can smell your perfume' and they were playing over the loud speaker for me. But I asked Rhys to record something that would just really, truly terrify me. Not as Gwen, but me as Emma."
She added: "He said some horrifying, horrifying things. It was awful. And he was so incredible to do it, but everyone on set was like, 'I'm going to have nightmares.' It was like being in a horror movie... He terrified the crap out of me…which was so amazing of him to do."
