Elton John Forced To Pull Out Of Las Vegas Shows

It was reported yesterday that Sir Elton John had been rushed to hospital, following a 'serious respiratory infection'. The 65 year old was taken to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in LA the morning of the May 23 and now it has been revealed that Elton has been ordered to rest and pull out of three performances that the star had planned in Las Vegas, where the singer currently lives.

The 'Your Song' singer's publicist, Fran Curtis said in a statement: "Elton developed a serious respiratory infection last weekend while performing at The Colosseum on Sunday, May 20"

"This week the condition worsened, even with medication and rest, resulting in Elton being hospitalised."

The statement added that the singer underwent "extensive tests" and was recommended to take "complete rest" for "approximately seven days... to cure his respiratory infection and prevent any damage".

However, it seems that the superstar is already ready to rock again, telling Tmz.com that it felt 'strange' not being on stage and promised fans that he would be 'back soon'.

It's looking likely that the singer's wishes may come true, as all being well he is set to return to London for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee concert in London on June 4 - organised by Gary Barlow and featuring Sir Tom Jones, Ed Sheeran and Jessie J.

Put those feet up for a little while, Elton!
