One Direction mania has continued in the US, this times as the lads hit Los Angeles on Saturday (June 16).

The 'What Makes You Beautiful' group continued their 'Up All Night' tour at a sold-out Gibson Amphitheatre, with a set that included the hits from debut album.

The band also performed covers by the likes of of Amy Winehouse and Kings Of Leon throughout the show.

After the show, Niall Horan tweeted fans: ''LA... what an amazing day ..2 shows #boom! u guys were soo loud! thank yo.''

As at previous dates on the tour, One Direction were supported by Olly Murs, whose set included a rendition of 'Heat Skips A Beat'.

Meanwhile, One Direction are getting ready to fly the flag for the UK at the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics, with reports suggesting they will perform in front of one billion people.

The Daily Star Sunday has reported an insider as saying that Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson will perform on the stage alongside a thousand dancers in an incredible performance of their hit 'What Makes You Beautiful'.

For the boys national pride isn't the only reason to want a piece of Olympics, the gig would give them unmatched exposure in places like Asia, which they could look to conquer just as they have won over fans in the US.
