It’s the biggest music event of the year so why did attention seeking Kim Kardashian and Kanye West snub the Grammys? After all the rapper received six nominations and even won on the night, so why the no show?
We would've thought Kanye and Kim would relish the opportunity to sit front row with Jay Z and Beyonce, pose on the red carpet and generally hog the limelight, but instead the pair jetted to Brazil where they were spotted hanging out with Will Smith.
But why the diss? It looks like the 'Watch The Throne' star is feeling pretty ticked off with the Grammys after objecting to his lack of nominations in the biggest category of the night.
Back in December Kanye promised he would not be attending this year’s Grammy Awards because he apparently saw the omission of his record ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ from the list of 2012 Album of the Year nominees as a snub.

The hip-hop singer spoke of his distaste of the Grammys in a concert held in Atlantic City, saying, “How many Grammys do we have? … 18 Grammys. All in the black categories, though. But nonetheless, 18. I love Maroon 5, but when I lost Best New Artist to Maroon 5 … you know what I mean? Or when 'Watch the Throne' and 'Dark Fantasy,' neither of them got nominated for Album of the Year, you know what I mean?”
Well it’s not the first time Kanye was a no-show at the music event. He’s not been to the MTV VMAs since 2009 after the infamous Taylor Swift incident when he ran on stage after she won an award, shouting down the mic, “Yo Taylor. I'm really happy for you, I'm going to let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time.”
But perhaps Kanye just doesn't like the Grammys?
He won four Grammys last year, and pulled a repeat non-performance this year when he was awarded with three.
This year instead of rubbing shoulders with Jay Z, Beyonce and Justin Timberlake West and mother-to-be Kim opted for a holiday miles away in Rio de Janeiro.
'Kimye' weren't the only high profile no-shows, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj were also missing from the event.Harry Styles 'Doesn't Care' About Taylor Swift Grammys Dig: 'She's Clinging Onto Failed Relationship
