Cops called to Hugh Hefner's Playboy Mansion

Los Angeles cops raced to Hugh Hefner's Playboy Mansion on Thursday in response to a suspected prank call.

Local officials arrived at the publisher's Holmby Hills estate in the early hours of the morning when an unidentified individual placed a 911 call to report an assault.

Police found no evidence a crime had been committed, leading a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson to tell the media, "It could be one of those swatting calls."

However, the incident is currently under investigation, and sources tell TMZ.com the caller was actually under the impression a violent act had really occurred at Hefner's home.

A number of celebrities have fallen victim to the new swatting trend, among them Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, and Ashton Kutcher. Swatting callers phone in fake crimes to elicit an urgent police response.
