Cheryl Cole has reportedly put the release of her new single 'Screw You' on hold to focus on the comeback of her group Girls Aloud in the coming months.

The 'Call My Name' singer was due to release Screw You, which features Wretch 32, as the third single from her latest album A Million Lights, following on from 'Under The Sun.'

However, an insider claims Cheryl has been advised to postpone the release in order to focus all her attention on Girls Aloud.

"Cheryl originally planned for her solo material to coincide with the Girls Aloud promo schedule," a source told The Mirror.

"That way, it was thought they would cross-advertise each other. Unfortunately, it just felt a bit confusing to have both going on at once."

Apparently, the 'Sound of the Underground' hitmakers were disappointed when their lead comeback single 'Something New' failed to top the charts last month, so they plan to heavily promote their next single 'Beautiful Cause You Love Me' in the lead up to their 2013 arena tour.

"After the girls' single lost out to Olly Murs in the race for No.1 and Cheryl's single failed to reach the top 10, it was decided to focus all the attention on Girls Aloud for the time being," the source continued to tell the newspaper.

"They might reschedule it for some time in March after the girls' tour, but there is no date set at the moment."

Cheryl will perform solo this Saturday at Capital FM's Jingle Bell Ball, before joining her Girls Aloud bandmates for a group set on Sunday.

The group released the music video for their latest single 'Beautiful Cause You Love Me' earlier this week, which is taken from their new greatest hits album Ten.
