Rob Thomas will be playing on the Cee Lo Green team on season 3 of The Voice when it premieres in September.
According to Us Weekly, the Matchbox 20 frontman will be mentoring contestants in the early rounds on the NBC hit singing competition.
Thomas, 40, is reportedly currently scouting talent alongside Green, 38, and tells Us “I'm really excited to work with Cee Lo and love the idea that I may be in the room with a future superstar that the world has yet to discover.”
Also joining season 3 of The Voice is Michael Buble (Team Blake Shelton), and Mary J. Blidge (Team Adam Levine). Host Carson Daly recently spoke to TVLine sharing changes in the season, which include tweaked Battle Rounds and more blind audition episodes.
"The best way to categorize the changes is that we're playing with some potential interchangeability [in the Battle Rounds],” Carson said, but didn’t elaborate on what he meant by "interchangeability."
He also confirmed the infamous season 2 constant feud between Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine is finally over.
"I didn't know what to expect in frame one of Season 3," Carson explained. "I was curious to know if the first time they had an exchange, would you be able to feel any resentment, but it just wasn't there. It's better. It's like they went to couples therapy."
The Voice recently received its first-ever Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Reality-Competition Program category.
Season 3 of The Voice premieres September 10 at 8 p.m. (EST) on NBC
