Carrie Underwood has announced that she will surrender any profits from a recent concert, after she lost her voice on stage.

She was singing in Des Moines when she told the crowd she was disappointed in her performance.

At the end of the 90-minute set at the Iowa Events Centre, she said: "I feel real guilty about making any money on this show tonight.

"So whatever I’m making is just going to go right back into this community... I feel that’s the right thing to do."

The crowd loudly applaued her decision. Aww!

Underwood, along with Kelly Clarkson, is one of the most successful winners in American Idol's eleven-season history.

Its twelfth run, featuring Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey and Keith Urban as new judges alongside original panelist Randy Jackson, kicks off in the New Year.
