Get Bieber Out? Thousands Sign Petition To Deport Justin Bieber To Canada

25 January 2014

Justin Bieber may have millions of Beliebers, however his popularity may be dwindling after his DUI and drag racing arrest in Miami earlier this week. The organisation We The People are aiming to garner 100,000 signatures to deport the Beauty and the Beat singer back to his native Canada.

Their proposition cites that the 19-year-old is "dangerous, reckless" and "destructive". The official statement explains: "We the people of the United States feel that we are being wrongly represented in the world of pop culture."

"We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive, and drug abusing, Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked."

"He is not only threatening the safety of our people but he is also a terrible influence on our nation's youth. We the people would like to remove Justin Bieber from our society."

In just 48 hours the petition had over 15,500 signatures, requiring just 84,416 more until it must be brought to Congress and be discussed.

Justin was pulled over on Thursday after officers spotted him drag-racing. The Canadian pop star was then arrested after admitting he had been smoking marijuana, drinking and taking prescription medication.

Bieber was charged with driving under the influence, driving with an expired license and resisting arrest without violence. After posting his $2,500 bail, Justin is currently back at home.

The star broke his silence yesterday on Twitter as he thanked his fans for their support:

Although the petition is likely to gain a lot of signatures, it is unlikely that Bieber will actually be deported. US immigration authorities rarely revoke a person's visa unless they have committed a violent crime or have spent over one year in prison.
