Beyonce was the star attraction at last night's Super Bowl in New Orleans, with her jaw-dropping half time show wowing the worldwide audience, but did B's skimpy stage costume beat out Madonna's 2012 look?
Beyonce took to the stage for her anticipated half time show last night, showing off her voice (she even sang live!) as well as her bod as she shimmied her way through a string of classics. The superstar was even joined by her Destiny's Child bandmates for a rendition of the band's classics 'Bootylicious', 'Independent Women' and Beyonce's hit 'Single Ladies.'
Dressed in a plunging leather corset and skirt which she later stripped off the reveal a lace underlay, B left little to the imagination with her stage costume designed by Rubin Singer.
Singer has actually designed a number of ensembles for Beyonce over the years. According to E! Online his Super Bowl design took weeks of preparation with a team of 14 workers working over 200 man hours on the costume at the designer's New York studio since December.

The ensemble was reportedly based on the designer's upcoming Autumn 2013 collection entitled 'Valkyrie's Dominion', a reference to Norse mythology's dominant female warriors, which seems to fit Beyonce's stage persona perfectly.
Whilst Beyonce's on-stage outfit seemed to go down a storm, it's definitely a tradition to go all out for the biggest sporting event in the US calendar. This time last year Madonna wowed with her own skimpy look. Like Beyonce, Madge chose to reference ancient mythology for her costumes, this time taking inspiration from the Egyptians and Romans.

Unlike Beyonce, the Queen of Pop made quick changes for a series of bespoke Givenchy Haute Couture creations by Riccardo Tisci,
Madonna donned three main designs: a gold, hand-embroidered full-length gown with headdress; black and gold miniskirt with hand-studded warrior-style belt, and the final showstopper - a heavily embellished black coat with high collar.
