She was no doubt sitting comfortably in first class ready to jet back to Los Angeles, but not for long.

As on Monday morning, Ashley Olsen was forced to leave an aeroplane that was about to take off, after the aircraft's engine combusted.

The 26-year-old star was no doubt grateful to have been taken back into the airport after the plane's cockpit filled up with smoke.

According to TMZ, one of the aircraft's engines burst into flames soon after the airliner pulled away from the gate.

Ashley is thought to have been one of 200 passengers on the plane, which was departing from Dallas, Texas.

An American Airlines representative told TMZ that 'the flight returned to the gate due to an electrical odor in the cockpit, and a new Boeing 767 was brought in to take all 211 passengers to LAX.'

Luckily, Ashley only had to wait less than two hours before being on her way to Los Angeles again.
