Tonight's X Factor saw Ella Henderson make a shock exit from the show.
The singer polled the lowest amount of public votes after the judges failed to make a unanimous decision between herself and James Arthur.
The two singers, who have been praised by the judges week on week, appeared stunned when it was revealed that they had gained the least amount of votes.
Meanwhile, Rylan Clark and Christopher Maloney- hot favourites to leave this week- were kept in by the public.
During the sing off Ella sang Daniel Bedingfield's 'If You're not the One' while James sang Alicia Keys' 'Falling'.
Ella's mentor Tulisa was the first to cast her vote, unsurprisingly deciding to send home James.
The perplexed judge said: "These two people in front of me are finalists, this is ridiculous."
Next up was Nicole Scherzinger who again stuck by her act, choosing to send home Ella.
She added: "Whatever happens tonight it will be a great tragedy for the show- you two are the most talented people on the stage."

The first impartial judge to vote was Louis Walsh who decided to send home James, leaving it up to Gary Barlow to choose whether to save Ella or take the vote to Deadlock.
And shock of shocks, Gary took the vote to Deadlock.
On hearing the result, Ella took the news well, thanking the show for everything it had done for her.
She said: "You know what, this year the talent on the show is incredible. Everybody deserves to be in the final. I want to say thank you so much. I wouldn't be here am if it wasn't for the show."
Well that was certainly a turn out for books.
We can't help but wonder, could Christopher Maloney actually win?
