X Factor’s Christopher Maloney: Diva stories about me are all lies

The X Factor's Christopher Maloney has hit out at the press' negative coverage of him over the past few weeks.

Reports have suggested that Christopher acts like a diva backstage and isn't particularly well liked by the contestants or crew members.

Talking exclusively to omg! at the Twilight Breaking Dawn Part Two premiere this week, Christopher Maloney has admitted that he isn't hurt by the stories as they have no truth in them.

He told us: "It's hard, the thing is if it were true I'd be hurt but because it's not true and it's lies it's just water off a duck's back."

What Christopher does worry about however, is the effect the stories are having on his nearest and dearest.

He explained: "I'm more worried about my family being more upset than I am because it's hard.

"I'm from the back streets of Liverpool and to be put in the spotlight like this it's hard to deal with the negative press that I'm getting."

This week's X Factor live show theme is guilty pleasures and Christopher admits that he is putting everything he can into his performance to make sure he stays in the competition.

He said: "My performance on Saturday- I mean I've been rehearsing and rehearsing loads.

"I'm really going to go for it this week. It's week seven, there's only two and a half weeks until the final- I'm gonna go for it."

As for what song he will be singing this week, Christopher Maloney kept schtum but he did reveal what his biggest guilty pleasure outside of the X Factor was.

"I can't tell you what the song is but my guilty pleasure would have to be pot noodles, I love them," he said.

Something tells us that guilty pleasures could be Christopher's week- he hasn't stopped singing them since he started the live shows after all.
