TOWIE’s Dan Osborne has admitted that he would never have dated co-star Lucy Mecklenburgh if he had known his ex-girlfriend Megan was pregnant.
The 21-year-old recently ended his budding romance with Lucy, 22, after he found out the happy news that his ex-girlfriend was pregnant with his first child.
Speaking to new! magazine, Dan revealed that had he known about his ex's news before hand, he wouldn’t have pursued Lucy.
He told the magazine: "I felt bad for both Lucy and Megan, but in different ways. If I’d known Megan was pregnant, I wouldn’t have got to know Lucy."
During Sunday’s episode of TOWIE, Lucy expressed her annoyance over how she wished things could have been different for her and Dan.
However, Dan is adamant that it wouldn’t have been right to start up a new relationship while Megan was pregnant.
He explained: “Megan would never pressure me to stop dating, but I don’t think it would be fair on either of them if I’d continued to date Lucy.
“I want to concentrate on one thing at a time.
“Lucy’s a really nice girl and she’s beautiful, but I can’t say ‘if this hadn’t happened’ because it has.
“It doesn’t necessarily mean it’s over for good. It’s not like we won’t speak again. We still hang out and go for dinner with groups of us.”
So you never know, there could still be hope for Lucy yet.
Speaking about the pregnancy, Dan revealed that Megan is now 13-weeks along – something that came as quite a shock to the both of them.
He said: “She’s 13 weeks. I’m not sure how far along she was when she told me she was pregnant, which is why it came as such a shock when we went for the first scan. We hadn’t realised!”
