The former couple have found themselves in the same category as each other with Taylor, 23, and the 19-year-old’s band One Direction both being nominated for Favourite Song.

‘What Makes You Beautiful’ and ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ have both been shortlisted alongside Carly Rae Jepson’s ‘Call Me Maybe’ and ‘Gangnam Style’ by PSY.

The two should probably start practicing their gracious loser’s face in the build up to the ceremony.

Looking nonchalant and pleased for your ex while they are collecting an award you’ve been nominated for is no easy feat.

As well as being nominated for ‘Favourite Song’, One Direction have also been given a nod for ‘Favourite Musical Group.’

Talking to People magazine about being nominated, Harry Styles admitted that he and the band were over the moon.

He said: "We are delighted with our nominations for the Kids' Choice Awards. It was amazing to perform 'What Makes You Beautiful' at last year's show.

“Thank you as always to our incredible fans and supporters!"

Voting lines will open later this week- meaning that One Direction and Taylor Swift fans will be battling it out to make sure their idol doesn’t leave the ceremony empty handed or with egg of their face.

The ceremony will take place on 23 March where awkwardness will more than likely commence.
