The Olympian wowed the judges with his cheeky Charleston after a disappointing past few weeks.
Partner Flavia brought in an acting teaching during rehearsals this week to help Louis with his performance skills- and it paid off in dividends.
The last time we saw that many crazy facial expressions on our TV screens we were watching 'Ace Ventura Pet Detective'.
The judges were unanimous that Louis' performance, which saw him play a doctor, was the best of the night.
Darcey Bussell gushed: "Yes Louis you've got it, I loved the insane doctor, you were a silent movie star, the tricks had the wow factor."

Len Goodman quipped: "Shut up, close the door and call me Mary, you've got a personality and you've performed."
While Bruno Tonioli seemingly lost the plot saying: "Doctor Doctor my heart is pounding, do you do house calls? You'll be booked for the rest of your life…the making of a true contender."
Picking up two tens, Louis scored an impressive 37.
Earlier on in the evening Kimberley Walsh opened the show with an energetic jive.
And it seems that all the hours Kim has spent rehearsing have paid off if her washboard abs were anything to go by.
The Girls Aloud singer flaunted her perfect midriff during the performance which eventually scored Kim her usual score of 34.
Will she ever top it?
Her abs alone are worthy of a 10, surely.
